May is Older Americans Month. This year’s theme is “Older Americans: Connecting the Community.” The focus is on the “many ways older adults bring inspiration and continuity to the fabric of our communities and how technology is helping older Americans live longer, healthier and more engaged lives.”
Older Americans Month is our chance to show appreciation and support for seniors. Their shared histories, diverse experiences, and wealth of knowledge have made our culture and economy what they are today. Older Americans are more active in community life than ever before. Advances in health care, education, technology, and financial stability over the last several decades have greatly increased vitality and standard of living. When older adults are active and engaged in their communities, everyone benefits.
Aging in Alabama and Marca Life Planning proudly support older adults and their families. Our passion is helping older adults age with dignity by preserving independence, personal choice, and control.
